The Next Ronaldo of EPL...

The Next Ronaldo of EPL...

Arsenal spends the least in transfer market and still manages to get the best players from nowhere. The latest addition in this illustrious  list is The Verminator. He has been the best buy of the season in EPL and clicked in a flash. But the best signing by Arsene Wenger in recent times has been a certain Russian. We @ 11gunners believe that he is the 3rd best thing to come out of Russia (1st being Vodka & 2nd being Kournikova). We take this International break as an opportunity to look at this fantastic Russian, Andrei Arshavin…

Many believe, including us, that it was him who galvanized this team to grab the last Champions League spot last season from a rather precarious situation. He started in 12 games, scored 6 goals and provided 5 assists. These figures are very impressive if not excellent and that too it was not as if Arsenal was cruising when he arrived. We were struggling for a Champions League spot and his arrival during January window was a very welcome signing indeed. It was a January signing which triggered Man Utd’s current domination of EPL when they grabbed Vidic and if Arsenal do go on to win the title this time then Arshavin is going to play a major role for sure.

Unlike other Arsenal players, he is quiet matured and it shows in his game. He is someone who can turn a match in a split second. He is someone who can produce magic moments just the way CR7 used to for the Red Devils. And he almost did against the current champions @ OT before we and the referee gifted the match away to the manholes on a platter.

Arsène Wenger has charged Andrey Arshavin with the job of becoming Arsenal’s talisman. He believes that Arsha will rank alongside world greats like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo if he can help the North London side win a trophy this season.

“I believe he has a big challenge in front of him,” said the 59-year-old. “He made his team in Russia win and if he manages to make Arsenal win he will become an all-time great.

“That is the real challenge he faces and I am convinced he has all the potential to do it.”

“I consider him a great player already but if you want the consideration of everybody else people think about your qualities with trophies.“Yes you can say players like Ryan Giggs can never win a World Cup because Wales never get there. But he shows in his club that he is a great.

“I just love Arshavin as a footballer because he has things that are just down to him. He is intelligent and he looks like he is a shrewd street-player because he creates something always in unexpected situations.

“He has a low centre of gravity, great pace and tricky dribble. He uses all that he has in the locker in an intelligent way and don’t forget he is a winner as well.”

His 4 goals against the Scousers last season was an exhibition of his talent and no Gooner can ever forget that magical match. His finishing is exquisite and he makes it look like a school boy stuff. The cheeky goal that he scored against the Olympiakos is a testimonyto his skills in front of the goal. I heard a commentator say that “The longer it takes for Spanish Sharks to figure out the quality of this pint sized Russian, the better it is for Arsenal. Because once  they realize it, they will want him as badly as they want Fabregas, if not more.” So lets enjoy him on this beautiful journey as he fills the void left by CR7 in EPL and takes Arsenal to championship for one more time.

PS: He is a certified fashion designer and does have a keen interest in ladies’ fashion wear.
