A Cause Of Celebration
Here’s something that’ll cheer up all you Gooners, just hours ago in Switzerland, UEFA have deemed Eduardo to be innocent and have overturned the previously imposed 2 match ban on him. Justice has finally prevailed and it instills faith in the judicious system. A victory for the game itself, 11Gunners celebrates it..
The statement from UEFA read:-
“Following examination of all the evidence, notably the declarations of both the referee and the referees’ assessor, as well as the various video footage, it was not established to the panel’s satisfaction that the referee had been deceived in taking his decision on the penalty.”
Clearly we had been mistaken to doubt Eduardo and this is surely a slap in the face of those who took pride in “Booing” him and ridiculing the Gunners, we have redeemed ourselves with a stamp from the regulatory body itself. The video replays showed contact between the goalkeeper and Eduardo and even if the infringement hadn’t been that strong enough it was ludicrous to suggest that Eduardo had tried to hoodwink the refree. The relief in the Arsenal contingent was quite apparent and the official statement read:-
“We fully support the drive for fair play in football and believe it is important that UEFA provide clear and comprehensive standards that will be consistently enforced going forward.”
Arsenal had rightfully appealed against UEFA’s earlier hastily taken decision and that appeal turned out to be fruitful today as we look to start our UCL campaign against Standard Liege two days from today. We just hope that this piece of news will give us the strength to recoup ourselves as the onus of proving ourselves has been thrown right in our face after the weekend disappointment.
There is light at the ‘End of the Tunnel’..Believe me!!

Relief!
