Will this face become our symbol?Well all you Gooners are familiar with the Fabregases and the Van Persies and the Arshavins but the name of Stan Kronke doesn’t ring a bell exactly, does it? Well it might do so in some more time as he may rise to become the “Roman” for Arsenal. With news just in that the rich American Sports Mogul has increased his share in our club’s holdings to a tantalising 28.9 per cent, the intentions of a takeover look more probable than ever. 11 Gunners goes into the depth of the matter…

So who exactly is this guy? Well for starters he’s a billionaire, listed in Forbes 400 richest people. And he has a thing for sports and sporting clubs. He currently owns the NBA team Denver Nuggets and Hockey team Colorado Avalanche but seems to be keen to extend his influence beyond the continental boundaries of America. And Arsenal seem to have caught the glint of his eyes.

His association with our club began in the year 2007 through an initial tachnical link up with his owned Colorado Rapids. Kroenke upped his stakes in the club to 12.1% within no time and Arsenal welcomed him to rival the bidding of  Alisher Usmanov, that corporate battle looks to be turning into a war now.

In a period of little more than a year, Kroenke had been included in Arsenal’s Board of Directors. His ambitions seem to be sky high with the club. After continuously pumping in investments he raised his stake to a sizeable 28.9% and if he reaches the 29.9 % threshold he’ll be in a position to launch a formal takeover bid for the club.

He already controls voting rights and has amassed huge shares of the club. So it wont be much of a surprise if he outsmarts Usmanov to the helm of the club.

The big question is how will things be shuffled at the club? Will he prefer to keep himself to the financials and let Wenger and Co handle the football or will he attempt to make radical changes, one thing’s for sure, its gonna be eventful and we as Gooners can only hope that the outcome is in the best interests of the club. Amen!!
