Its more than just a game!!
So we have had our share of fun with this one, its time we get down to serious business as less than 24 hours remain between the Gunners taking the field against their oldest and staunchest rivals, Tottenham. Some games in the Premier League are not just about the points and this one ranks high in the charts. This one is primarily about the pride though Tottenham hardly have any. One has to scout the History books to find the last time they beat us in the League and no matter how hard they have tried, we have always and I mean always got the better of them.
With the 2 teams locked on equal points one can expect nothing but a cracker tomorrow evening, 11Gunners previews the Big One..
The 162nd League Edition of this rivalry is defintiely more spiced up because of the rich vein of form shown by both these clubs so far. But that would be taking the truth to its breaking point. Saying that Tottenham’s quality is at par with us is a hilarious exaggeration. We enjoy a ten year unbeaten streak against the Lilywhites in the league and the 11th one seems to be on its way. Previous week was a disappointment for us at West Ham but nothing compared to the shock of Tottenham being undone at home by Stoke.
Fabianski has picked up a knock ahead of this one so we might be seeing Manuel Almunia back in action. Theo and Tomas continue to be absentees but we haven’t missed them a lot thus far, not atleast at home where we have played some exhibition stuff to humble our opponents.
Spurs have shown quality this season but Aaron Lennon’s absence is bound to hurt their attacking potency that they have so much faith in. Jermaine Defoe remains suspended and Luka Modric is nursing a broken leg adding to the woes of the Lilywhites.
They say that form goes out of the window when it comes to games like these, but form or no form we seem to have too much quality for them to handle.
MATCH PREDICTION
Arsenal 3 -1 Tottenham
I expect the usual suspects Van Persie, Fabregas and Arshavin to write their names on the scoresheet. Last year’s contest was a thrilling one for neutrals but a disappointing one for us. But this year, get ready to face the music when you make that short trip to the Emirates, remember who’s your DADDY!!
For all you Gooners, we will be following the game live for you!! So be there to enjoy all the action as we gear up to hunt down our enemies!!
