Magic Waiting To Happen

I have tried to get away from the new signing, or the Mark Schwarzer situation and even the champions league draw.

I have been hearing people telling me that Arshavin isn’t as good as everyone makes out and is just an over-rated player.

On Saturday, I spent the first 20 minutes just watching Andrey Arshavin and if I am honest, he gave the ball to the opposition more then he gave it to his own team mates.

However, the first goal is when his game changed and he provided a good assist for Theo Walcott and off course stepped up for the penalty for the second goal.

These first 20 minutes summed Andrey Arshavin out for me. He can be slightly hit and miss, he can be quiet all game but do something special like score a goal or provide an assist or just make something happen.

The Verminator!

The Verminator!

When we speak about key men for Arsenal, we talk about Cesc Fabregas, Robin Van Persie and even Andrey Arshavin etc but for me the real key man is Thomas Vermaelen.

Go Theo..

Go Theo..

Theo Walcott has had a lot to face this year. He turned 21 in March and had a glitzy party to celebrate with his gorgeous girlfriend Melanie Slade. That’s the upside of his year, and possibly the best he’s had all year.

El Capitan

El Capitan is a 'Gunner for life'

We all know of the Star Wars saga; multiple movies that stretch out over a long period of time. And eventually those characters grow old. Gooners have been involved in a different type of saga, the Cesc saga, where multiple transfer rumours have stretched out over a few years. And the rumours, too, have grown old; to the point of frustration for all Arsenal fans.

In Arsene We Trust..

In Arsene We Trust..

With the World Cup finally over we can at last get back to the really important business of club football and our beloved Arsenal. The new season is only just over four weeks away and Arsene Wenger has already added Marouane Chamakh and Laurent Koscielny to the squad. However with the departures of Senderos, Silvestre, Gallas and possibly Sol Campbell too we are still very short of centre backs. There’s also a possibility that our captain and star player, Cesc Fabregas, will leave although personally I can’t see it happening. Added to that there is no definite return date set for Aaron Ramsey and even when he does return it will take a long time for him to get back to the level he was at before his horrific injury.

With all of that in mind we are in need of at least another couple of signings and we then have to factor in our current goalkeeper situation, the lack of backup for Alex Song and Eduardo’s inability to recover fully from his injury so far. In my opinion that all points to the possible acquisition of a goalkeeper, another centre back and possibly a midfielder too.
